TechConnect is a program of the Department of Technology that links residents of San Francisco to computers and technology - enabling access, promoting adoption, brokering resources and coordinating services to improve quality of life.
TechConnect provides wired, wireless and blended broadband solutions for San Francisco residents through its Network of Community Networks (NCN). NCN provides residents at over 3750 low income housing units with free access to the Internet.
Commitment to Access
TechConnect promotes broadband adoption by facilitating access to computers, technology training and comprehensive services through its SF Digital Inclusion initiative, ensuring digital equity for all San Francisco residents, particularly the underserved.
TechConnect builds strategic alliances - nonprofit, for-profit and government that promote innovation through collaborative development of technology applications in health (telemedicine), education (distance learning) and the environment (simulations).
