Powers And Duties
There are seventeen (17) authorized Commission Seats (i.e 12 Board of Supervisor Appointed, 5 Mayoral appointed). Additional S.F. Code requires a minimum of 3 female veterans, and a minimum of 2 service-connected disabled vets. The Commission is currently in compliance with such Special Designation appointments.
At present there is ONE Vacant Commission Seat, a MAYORAL Appointment.
Applications for the vacant Mayoral appointed seat must be made via correspondence directed to the Office of the Mayor.
NOTE: Applicants for all SFVAC Commission seats must be veterans of US military Service, and residents of San Francisco.
